AJ Michalka was born in Torrance, Calif. Her mother, Carrie, who is an accomplished musician as well, encouraged her to become a musician. AJ was is a native of Torrance California and was influenced to become a singer because of her mum Carrie. AJ lived the majority of her youth with her family in Torrance, Seattle, and Milwaukee. They started playing guitar and piano when they were young. At the time they were teenagers, they were experts in their field. AJ was five years old when she began acting in the church's plays. AJ participated in school musicals. AJ started her career in acting in 2002 when she was an 11-year-old girl in the show 'Passions'.
